philosophy
The barebones philosophy is very simple.
It says that if you go back to basics, you will most likely be better off. Back to basics simply means, that you use tools, and techniques, that are likely to work. You don’t want to use tools and techniques, that don’t work. Obviously.
Within the communication area, this means again, that to secure the effect and impact of e.g. a message, of any message, you will be more likely to succeed, if you have knowlegde of, understanding of, and are able to use basic and well proven communication tools.
If you have such knowledge and use the toolbox that goes with it, you will be in a better position to evaluate the possible outcome of your piece of communcation.
Why is this important?
Well, most of our daily communication in our life world comes absolutely free, and we manage well in our worlds by communication within the different contexts (family, friends, at school, at work, in networks) that we operate in. However, misunderstandings, as we all know, occur. When they do, we do our best to correct them.
However, certain parts of the communication world comes at a great expense. Quite literally.I am talking about commercial communication, where people, companies and organisation pays agencies or consultants huge sums of money to get a message to the market.
Examples are obvious; advertising, both print and films and virtuals like on a web page or a blog. Others are press releases, press conferences. Direct messages, that comes directly to our mailbox on the computer, or are delivered to your doorstep manually.
Huge sums of money are spent. Some times with little or no effect at all. Using barebones tools, strategies and tactics are one way to get secure results. Make your spendings worth while.
Not that barebones tools do it alone. As important is the wrapping of the message, the way you handle what you want to say. And the good idea, the catch that will grab your audience and hold it.
Barebones will place you on the right road, pointing you in the right direction. Creativity, will secure that you get to the destination first. Ahead of those trying their way on the same road with a similar message.
Creativity alone, however, will not do it. Knowledge and creativity though, make an excellent marriage.
